Astronauta, una película no binaria has been selected for the third edition of Los Proyectos Cinematográficos de Atitlán: taller para la evolución de proyectos de bajo presupuesto.
The film is one of ten Ibero-American feature-length projects selected for the program and one of five projects in the documentary group. At this stage of its development, the project still bore the working title Arquitectura de un escape. It later adopted its current title, Astronauta, una película no binaria.
Astronauta, una película no binaria is an 80-minute hybrid documentary, a co-production between Panama and Mexico, and one of the original projects developed by The Vision Framework. The film is produced by Niklas Salkin and Sayuri Castro.
Writer and director Enma Martínez-Cornó and producer Sayuri Castro will represent the project as its directing and producing team.
The program will combine two weeks of virtual work with a third in-person week in Panajachel, Guatemala. The documentary projects will receive guidance from tutors Marcos Pimentel and Martha Orozco, along with specialized masterclasses and exchanges with the other selected teams.
The selected participants will receive full scholarships with support from Programa Ibermedia, allowing them to take part in the entire process.
This selection will make it possible to continue strengthening the film’s development and expand The Vision Framework’s participation in Ibero-American training and professional exchange spaces.
More information and the complete selection announcement are available on the Los Proyectos de Atitlán website.
